Next month, our team is headed to Malawi to document the amazing impact you make possible. We are partnering with All Worldwide Travel, Inc. to hand-deliver your donated Luci Solar Lanterns and Shoes That Grow. This month, you still can see your donation in action. We are matching all $20 donations this month – so your donation has twice the impact of changing more lives!

We are excited to launch our fundraising campaign, which is focused on two life-changing products you have helped provide for children attending our Namunda Primary School in Malawi, Africa. It is important that we not only support quality education but that we give students the tools they need to properly absorb and utilize this education. Healthy and adjustable shoes that grow – up to five sizes – with children’s feet is a huge accomplishment thanks to The Shoe That Grows.

Without shoes, children are extremely vulnerable to soil-transmitted diseases and parasites that can cause life-threatening illnesses. As over 1.5 billion people worldwide suffer from soil-transmitted diseases, The Shoe That Grows founder, Kenton Lee, created a shoe that not only protects children’s feet from these harms but also expands to accommodate growth. “Since children’s feet grow so quickly, they often outgrow donated shoes within a year, leaving them once again exposed to illness and disease.” The Hamels Foundation, with your generosity, can help many children live more productive lives. Your gift provides one pair of Shoes That Grow to our Namunda Primary School students! With shoes, children are healthier and attend school more often, as sickness is limited and their feet are protected from the rocky terrain. For just $20, you can protect a child’s feet for years to come, as they reach their educational goals.

We also are taking MPOWERD Luci Solar Lanterns with us! Your gift of $20 for a solar lantern brightens the lives of our Namunda Primary School students and their families. As soon as the sun goes down, children can’t study, entrepreneurs have to stop working, women are less safe walking outside, health clinics have to close… the list goes on. Kerosene lamps are the most common solution in these areas – but they are dangerous, toxic and expensive. Luci solar lanterns provide clean, safe solar electricity that shines for hours on a single charge. Most homes in Malawi do not have electricity, meaning children struggle to do their school work at night. By giving a solar lantern, you are providing these children with a brighter way to learn and play. Help us empower Malawi by redefining life after the sun goes down.

Thanks for being a part of our story, we couldn’t do it without you! Don’t forget we are matching your donations this month to have twice impact. 100% of your donation directly supports programs and projects of The Hamels Foundation. Donate now!
