Greeting Card Contest Winners!
Last month, The Hamels Foundation announced a greeting card contest for kids. We eagerly awaited the daily visit from our mail man. Thanks to all the kids who participated, we received entries every day from all over the country! It was exciting to open each envelope and see the adorable drawings from our talented young fans! A few kids sent in more than one card, others tried their luck with just one favorite. We appreciate every entrant and the time and effort they put into making their card. We had so much fun at our handbag happy hour event yesterday! Women came into Joseph Anthony Retreat Spa and Salon during the day to look at our bags and purchase raffle tickets. We were excited to see the response for our raffle bags. Our Rebecca Minkoff clutch and our black satchel donated by Niche boutique were the favorites - a few ladies even came back a few times to purchase more tickets! The Hamels Foundation had a great time at our first Phillies game of the season! We brought our brand new promo vehicle and parked it right on Citizens Bank Way. We set up a table inside the third base gate, complete with a Spin Wheel with a trivia game, raffle prizes, and free give-aways. Everyone loved answering questions about the Phillies and Cole Hamels and got really into it! I think we need to make some of them harder though... Phillies fans REALLY know their stuff! As you know, The Hamels Foundation hosts events all over the Philadelphia area. We have been in desperate need of a vehicle to hold all of our staff and supplies. Videon in Newtown Square partnered with us and we are now the proud owners of a brand new Jeep! Cole and Heidi, along with the rest of our staff, went to the dealership on Friday to see our new car for the first time. Phillies fans got a chance to be up close and personal with Cole Hamels at Cole's Cookout at Bright House Field on March 14, 2013. After a great win against the Pittsburgh Pirates, they were let into the "players only area" for an afternoon of fun. Cole's teammates stopped by to say hi, sign autographs, and take photos with nearly 200 guests. We would like to thank Smokey Bones for providing awesome barbeque and The Vesper Brothers for creating Cole's Cookout signature sauce. We're happy everyone had a great time. See you again next year! Our student supporters are the best! On December 1, 2012, Avon Grove High School in West Grove, PA took it upon themselves to hold a 6 on 6 Volleyball Tournament and donate all of their proceeds to the Hamels Foundation. Jackie Deitz, a high school senior, wrote us to explain why she wanted to hold the tournament. "Our community over the years has done so much for us, and we want to give back to them....
